Job Summary:

We are seeking a skilled and experienced Building Maintenance Leader to join our team. The successful candidate will be responsible for overseeing the maintenance of our diverse assets, including playgrounds, park bridges, open space buildings, and wharfs.

Key Responsibilities:

">
  • Coordinate planned and reactive maintenance across various trades, including plumbing, electrical, carpentry, painting, and specialized trades.">
  • Lead and supervise a dedicated team, motivating them to deliver exceptional service and meet high standards.">
  • Manage projects from start to finish, including estimating, planning, procurement, and compliance.">
  • Liaise with internal departments, contractors, and the community to ensure smooth operations and high customer satisfaction.">
  • Provide technical advice and quality assurance to ensure all works meet standards and expectations.">
  • Monitor budgets and job costs using financial systems.">
  • Champion safety and environmental protection across all work sites.">
  • Support and engage with community volunteers in alignment with Council's Volunteer Engagement Strategy.">

Requirements:

">
  • Certificate III in a building trade and deep industry experience.">
  • Proven leadership and project management skills.">
  • Strong technical knowledge of building works, National Construction Code, and Australian Standards.">
  • WHS General Induction for Construction Work and a current Class C Driver's Licence.">
  • Excellent communication, planning, and organizational skills.">
  • A collaborative spirit and the ability to build trust with staff, customers, and suppliers.">
