About the Role

The State Government of Victoria, Australia is seeking a highly skilled and experienced professional to fill the position of Strategic Advisor, Aboriginal Evidence and Reporting. This role will play a critical part in strengthening the Department of Families, Fairness and Housing in evidence and reporting, as well as research and evaluation of Aboriginal programs and service delivery.

Key Responsibilities
  • Lead the department's annual reporting on various government agreements and frameworks, including the Victorian Aboriginal Affairs Framework, Closing the Gap Victorian Implementation Plan, and Self Determination Reform Framework.
  • Develop and implement departmental reporting processes for the Korin Korin Balit-Djak Aboriginal Health Wellbeing and Safety Strategic Plan.
  • Work in partnership with Aboriginal community leaders to define and deliver evidence and reporting priorities for Aboriginal business across DFFH.
Accountabilities

The successful candidate will be responsible for:

  • Providing strategic advice to the Director, Aboriginal Strategic Governance and Reporting.
  • Ensuring Aboriginal designed and delivered research, data, and evaluation principles are embedded in Aboriginal program and service delivery.
  • Developing and implementing policies and programs that provide strong client-led outcomes and ensure Aboriginal voice in decision-making processes.
Requirements

To be successful in this role, you will need:

  • Strong knowledge of Aboriginal affairs and experience working with Aboriginal communities.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to work collaboratively with executives, managers, and program areas across the state.
