Vocal Specialist

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Vocal Specialist to join our team at the Catholic Schools Office, Diocese of Maitland-Newcastle. As a key member of our ASPIRE program, you will be responsible for developing the vocal skills of young performers and leading rehearsals to ensure high-quality performances.

• Develop and implement vocal technique and harmony programs for young performers
• Lead rehearsals and assist vocalists in learning assigned choreography and dramatic elements
• Collaborate with the ASPIRE Musical Director to ensure cohesive and high-quality performances
• Manage and maintain a safe and supportive rehearsal environment

• Strong background in vocal performance and education
• Experience in teaching vocal technique and harmony
• Ability to read traditional notation and play piano for accompaniment and technical exercises
• Deep understanding of performance practice skills, including phrasing, technique, and movement for expression
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills

• Tertiary qualification or equivalent in music
• High level vocal proficiency of at least 6th Grade AMEB level
• Current paid NSW Working with Children Check (WWCC) number
