About the Role

We are seeking a skilled Boilermaker or Welder 2nd Class to join our team at Bridgestone Mining Solutions Australia (BMSA) in the Hunter Valley.

As a key member of our Mt Thorley team, you will be responsible for rectifying damage or 'wear and tear' to the wheels of our customers, ensuring all equipment used on site meets operational requirements, and working to best practice and service standard protocols.

Key Responsibilities
  • Diagnose and identify wheel damage, and troubleshoot issues to ensure efficient repair
  • Ensure all equipment used on site is properly maintained and meets operational requirements
  • Work to best practice and service standard protocols to deliver high-quality results
  • Inspect and verify that every wheel complies with BMSA QMS after each process stage of repair
  • Conduct risk assessments and reviews of work tasks to ensure safe working practices
  • Accurately complete all required documentation
Requirements
  • Appropriate trade qualifications or experience in welding and heavy fabrication
  • Forklift license (LF) or ability to obtain
  • Strong commitment to safety and a fit and able individual to perform manual labor requirements
  • Punctual, reliable, and a team player with a can-do attitude
  • Current work rights in Australia
Preferred Qualifications
  • SAW (Submerged Arc Welding) experience and/or accreditation
  • Additional qualifications or certificates in handling hazardous materials, painting, borer operation, drill operation, or grit blasting
  • Valid drivers license (HR preferred)
  • Experience in the mining or related industries
