We are seeking an Associate to the President of a tribunal in Tasmania. The successful applicant will be responsible for recording Tribunal proceedings, conducting legal research tasks and providing administrative assistance to the President and Principal Registrar.

The successful candidate must have a law degree or substantial progress towards one, completion of the Tasmanian Legal Practice Course, admission as a legal practitioner in Tasmania, and a full driver's license.

About This Role:

This is a unique opportunity to join our team at the Tasmanian Civil and Administrative Tribunal as an Associate to the President. We are looking for a highly skilled and motivated individual who can provide exceptional administrative support and conduct thorough legal research tasks.

Responsibilities include maintaining accurate records of Tribunal proceedings, proofing judgments and decisions, and coordinating listings and diary management. Additionally, the successful applicant will be responsible for liaison with practitioners on behalf of the President and providing visitor reception services.

The ideal candidate will possess excellent communication and organizational skills, with the ability to work independently and as part of a team. They will also have a high level of discretion and confidentiality when handling sensitive information.

Requirements:
  • Law degree or substantial progress towards a degree

  • Admission as a legal practitioner in Tasmania
