About the Role:The successful candidate will be responsible for supporting the implementation of TasPorts' Safety Strategy through the provision of practical, site-based health and safety support. The role requires sound decision-making and the ability to prioritise and respond to safety issues in a dynamic and sometimes ambiguous environment.
This position plays a key role in embedding safety systems, driving continuous improvement, and reducing health and safety risk across TasPorts' operations. As a site-based role, the position works autonomously to provide practical and timely safety support, advice and coaching to operational teams.
The ideal candidate will have extensive knowledge of contemporary health and safety principles and practices, with experience in providing practical health and safety advice in an operational environment. They will also have strong understanding of health and safety legislation, codes of practice, and risk management principles, with the ability to apply them in a pragmatic and solution-focused way.
The successful candidate will be required to work closely with the broader HSE function and operational stakeholders, and will be expected to exercise judgment, escalate risk appropriately, and influence behaviours through strong professional relationships.
