Job Title: Junior Assistant - Libraries (Client Services)

Gympie Regional Libraries is seeking a highly motivated and flexible school student to join our team as a Junior Assistant - Libraries (Client Services). This is a fixed-term position available to students commencing year 11 in 2024.

Job Summary

We are looking for a student who is passionate about working in libraries and providing excellent customer service to our community. As a Junior Assistant, you will assist senior library staff in providing and promoting library services, delivering high-quality customer-focused service, and library programming and events that meet community needs.

Key Responsibilities
  • Provide assistance to senior library staff in delivering library services and promoting library programs to the community.
  • Support the provision of information and technology services assistance and support for library customers.
  • Assist in the delivery of programs to meet community needs, including children's activities, technology sessions, and community workshops.
  • Participate in reviews of branch library processes and procedures to ensure a continuous improvement focus on customer service.
  • Demonstrate effective communication and teamwork skills, with the ability to confidently promote library services to the community.
Requirements

To be successful in this role, you will need to be commencing year 11 in 2024 and available to work at Gympie Library on a casual basis in 2024 and 2025. You will also need to possess a high level of communication skills, an understanding of library services, time management skills, and a high level of ability with digital technology.
