Customer Service Liaison Specialist

The Customer Service Support Team plays a crucial role in supporting the Defence Export Controls Branch and our industry partners in submitting export applications, navigating the export control framework, and liaising with other teams to provide timely guidance on various inquiries from Industry, Academia, and the public.
This team provides support through general enquiries inbox and phone, working closely with other teams in the Engagement and Support Directorate to achieve business outcomes for the Defence Export Controls Branch and Defence Trade, Regulation, and Industrial Collaboration Division.
About Our TeamAs part of the Governance team at Defence Export Controls (DEC), this role involves providing advice on governance, assurance, and audit activities that support AS DEC at both operational and strategic levels in delivering DECs Branch objectives.
The role offers opportunities to engage in work across the Branch, requiring the development of an understanding of our Projects and Products, as well as active pursuit of ongoing self-improvement. Professional development is expected.
This role works under broad direction to manage key stakeholder relationships and achieve outcomes related to Branch governance, performance reporting, Branch risk management, and internal Branch assurance and audit functions that assure the AS DEC that the Branch is achieving its Mission and Priorities in an accountable and defensible way.
Our Ideal Candidate- Must be able to manage a wide variety of activities including answering emails and phone calls from external and internal stakeholders.
- Should work independently with reasonable autonomy and accountability for achieving business outcomes.
- Prioritise workload under minimal direction.
- Demonstrate and apply the skills, knowledge, and experience necessary to provide guidance and service for complex activities.
- Work collaboratively, build, and sustain effective relationships and working with Branch business teams.
