Senior Lawyer Role

We are seeking a highly skilled Senior Lawyer to join our Regulatory Reform Unit. This is a rare opportunity to contribute to significant legislative projects and provide expert legal advice on government law issues.

About the Position
  • The Regulatory Reform Unit has been established to lead the legal aspects of major legislative projects, providing strategic direction and expert guidance.
  • The successful candidate will play a pivotal role in legislative project delivery, including developing and implementing effective solutions.
Key Responsibilities
  1. Provide expert legal advice with a focus on government law issues, particularly the application of Victorian laws in relation to government administration and education sectors.
  2. Contribute to the development and management of significant legislative projects, ensuring timely delivery and quality outcomes.
  3. Work collaboratively with senior executives, ministers' offices, central government agencies, and other departments to achieve project goals.
  4. Foster strategic relationships to support the successful delivery of legislative projects.
  5. Engage with stakeholders to identify opportunities for improvement and implement innovative solutions.
Requirements
  • Demonstrated expertise in government law, with a strong understanding of Victorian laws and regulations.
  • Proven ability to work effectively in a team environment, collaborating with diverse stakeholders to achieve shared goals.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to develop and implement effective solutions.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to engage with senior executives, ministers' offices, and other stakeholders.
  • Ability to work under pressure, managing multiple projects and deadlines while maintaining high-quality standards.
