Opportunity for a Bush Regeneration Trainee

This is an exciting opportunity to start your career in bush regeneration with a professional team that focuses on collaboration and development.

The successful candidate will work alongside experienced team members, developing skills, knowledge, and experience associated with bush regeneration. The position requires undertaking a broad range of tasks related to horticulture in a safe and efficient manner and contributing to key delivery areas for the department.

To be successful in this role, you will be a self-motivated individual that is passionate about developing a career in bush regeneration. You will be a team-player that is willing to learn and get your hands dirty in this hands-on role.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Develop skills, knowledge, and experience associated with bush regeneration under the guidance and supervision of experienced team members.
  • Undertake a broad range of tasks related to horticulture in a safe and efficient manner.
  • Contribute to key delivery areas for the department.
  • Complete a Certificate III in Conservation and Ecosystem Management.

Selection Criteria:

  • Not previously completed a qualification in bush regeneration or a related field.
  • Hold a Class C Driver's Licence (P1 Licence also acceptable).
  • Demonstrated basic knowledge in and a genuine interest to pursue a career in bush regeneration.
  • Strong willingness to learn and the ability to successfully complete a Certificate III in Bush Regeneration on a full-time basis over a period of 24 months.
  • Well-developed communication and numeracy skills.
  • Commitment to providing excellent customer service.
  • Demonstrated ability to follow instructions and work collaboratively as part of a team.
  • Physically fit and able to complete allocated manual handling tasks.
  • Commitment to WHS and EEO policies.
