Job Summary

This role requires a highly experienced and skilled professional to oversee operations in a remote area. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in civil construction, including experience working with directional drills, ploughing, open trenching, and other related activities.

About the Role

  • Manage a team of direct labour and subcontractors to deliver a program of works.
  • Collaborate with project engineers, project managers, and area managers to analyse tasks and select appropriate resources.
  • Escalate and address all resource requirements and shortages with the area manager/senior field area manager.
  • Liaise with site engineers to ensure materials and equipment are readily available ahead of construction activities.
  • Develop and maintain strong relationships with key stakeholders, including subcontractors and site engineers.

Key Responsibilities

  • Conduct construction walk-outs, planning, scoping, and activities to ensure site works can be constructed efficiently.
  • Engage with and brief subcontractors on their scope of works for construction.
  • Provide leadership and direction to both internal and subcontractor workforce to deliver the program of works.
  • Report on daily site events, progress, as well as any variations to contract schedules and work volumes.
  • Ensure compliance to work instructions, method of procedures, or plans provided.
  • Develop and maintain strong collaborative working relationship with key stakeholders.
  • Contribute and promote best and safe practices ensuring safety and health above all else by implementing safety policies, procedures, and legislative requirements.
