About the Role

We are seeking a talented and ambitious commercial lawyer to join our team at the Victorian Government Solicitor's Office. As a commercial lawyer, you will have the opportunity to work on a range of transactions and interesting legal issues, developing your skills and expertise in a government context.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Manage your own matters from start to finish, with appropriate supervision, and develop your client relationships.
  • Work on a range of transactions and legal issues, alone or as part of a cross-disciplined team.
  • Provide high-quality commercial legal advice in the most appropriate form.
  • Practice your presenting skills and contribute to client relationship and business development initiatives.

Requirements:

  • Admitted to practice as a legal practitioner of the Supreme Court of Victoria.
  • Knowledge and understanding of basic principles and practice of commercial law.
  • Excellent interpersonal, communication, and client relationship management skills.
  • Flexibility and the ability to manage competing priorities, with supervision and support.
