POSITION SUMMARY

The Safety Systems Manager is responsible for the development and maintenance of an effective safety management framework. This role focuses on promoting safety awareness, demonstrating leadership, and fostering a culture of continuous improvement within the organization. You will oversee the implementation of dnata AU's Safety Management System (SMS), ensuring it aligns with international standards and protocols.

Your responsibilities will include analyzing safety performance metrics, managing safety governance structures, and ensuring adherence to regulatory obligations. You will also play a crucial role in risk management efforts, conducting incident investigations, and driving the enhancement of management systems.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Lead the creation and management of dnata AU's Safety Management System (SMS), ensuring it meets global standards.
  • Perform analysis of safety performance data and trends, providing insights to senior management.
  • Establish and maintain a comprehensive governance framework for safety, ensuring compliance with relevant regulations.
  • Develop and implement safety programs and initiatives that promote a strong safety culture.
  • Conduct audits and investigations as necessary to uphold safety standards.
  • Support the execution of Risk Management strategies throughout the organization.
  • Stay updated on industry regulations and dnata's global system developments, evaluating their impact on operations.
  • Ensure the integrity and quality of data within the dnata Hub incident reporting system.
  • Oversee the collection and analysis of safety-related information for trend identification and risk management.
  • Lead significant investigations when required.
  • Facilitate ongoing reviews and enhancements of management systems related to Safety and Environment.

QUALIFICATIONS

  • Bachelor's degree in Safety Management, Occupational Health and Safety, or a related discipline.
  • A minimum of 5 years of experience in Safety Management, particularly in Safety System oversight.
  • Comprehensive understanding of Safety Regulations, Standards, and best practices within the industry.
  • Strong analytical capabilities and problem-solving skills.
  • Exceptional communication and leadership skills.
  • Experience in Risk Assessment and Incident Investigation methodologies.

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS

  • Experience in Safety Management within Aviation, Warehousing, Transportation, or Logistics sectors.
