Education Specialist">

The role of the education specialist involves delivering high-quality educational programs to students and contributing to the development and implementation of school policies and priorities.

  • Plan, prepare and deliver instructional programs to achieve specific student outcomes;
  • Assist in the development, implementation and evaluation of curriculum areas or other curriculum programs within the school;
  • Undertake other classroom teaching related and organisational duties as determined by the School Principal;
  • Participate in activities such as parent/teacher meetings; staff meetings; camps and excursions;
  • Supervise and train one or more student teachers.

As an experienced educator, you will have a strong understanding of curriculum design, pedagogy and assessment. You will be able to model exemplary classroom practice and mentor/coach other teachers in the school to engage in critical reflection of their practice and support staff to expand their capacity.

Key Responsibilities

The key responsibilities of this role include:

  • Planning and preparing instructional programs;

  • Supervising and training student teachers.

The successful applicant will be expected to meet the following selection criteria:

  • Demonstrated knowledge of the relevant curriculum, including the ability to incorporate the teaching of literacy and numeracy skills;
  • Demonstrated experience in responding to student learning needs;
  • Demonstrated ability to plan for and implement high impact teaching strategies;
  • Demonstrated ability to evaluate the impact of learning and teaching programs on student learning growth;
  • Demonstrated interpersonal and communication skills;
  • Demonstrated ability to establish and maintain collaborative relationships with students, parents, colleagues and the broader school community.
