About the Role
We are seeking an experienced Family Law Senior Counsel to join our client's Brisbane office. As a senior member of the team, you will be responsible for mentoring a junior lawyer and working closely with an experienced senior paralegal to deliver high-quality results. Your primary focus will be on meeting your billable targets, which range from 5.5 to 6.5 hours per day, while also contributing to the growth and success of the firm.
Key Responsibilities
- Manage a caseload of family law matters, including property settlements, parenting orders, de facto relationships, same-sex relationships, divorce, and separation.
- Mentor and support junior lawyers in their professional development.
- Work collaboratively with the senior paralegal to ensure seamless case management and effective communication with clients.
- Achieve billable targets through efficient case handling and effective time management.
- Contribute to the growth and success of the firm by identifying opportunities for improvement and implementing strategies to enhance practice areas.
Requirements
- Minimum 5 years of post-admission experience (PAE) in family law, preferably gained in private practice.
- Accredited Specialist status is highly desirable but not essential.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work effectively with clients, colleagues, and other stakeholders.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to think critically and make informed decisions.
- Ability to work autonomously and as part of a team, with a flexible approach to workload management.
Salary and Benefits
The salary for this role is estimated to be between $170,000 and $240,000 per annum, depending on experience and qualifications.
