Geotechnical Engineer Job Opportunity

Job Description:

We are seeking a Geotechnical Engineer to join our team. The successful candidate will provide geotechnical advice and support to ensure safe, productive, and compliant mining operations.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Provide geotechnical input to day-to-day underground operations, hazard management plans, and strata control strategies
  • Conduct inspections, audits, and monitoring to support ground control and compliance
  • Collaborate closely with technical and operational teams to inform designs and manage risk
  • Interpret and analyse geotechnical data to guide decision-making and optimise mine safety and performance
  • Support the continuous improvement of geotechnical systems, standards, and reporting
Requirements:
  • Tertiary qualifications in Geotechnical, Mining, or Civil Engineering (with geotechnical focus)
  • Previous experience in an underground coal mining environment
  • Strong understanding of ground control principles, strata monitoring, and geotechnical risk management
  • Ability to work collaboratively and communicate effectively across disciplines
  • Proactive approach to safety, problem-solving, and continuous improvement
  • Eligible for or working towards RPEQ registration (desirable)
