We are seeking a highly skilled Senior Analyst to join our Real Assets team at Challenger Limited. As a key member of our team, you will be responsible for overseeing the real estate portfolio, while also gaining exposure to private equity and infrastructure.
This is a fantastic opportunity to contribute to the strategy, monitoring, and management of a portfolio that spans Australia, Japan, and global markets. You will work closely with the Senior Portfolio Manager to develop the portfolio strategy, including the development of relative models, reporting models, and portfolio budgets.
Some typical responsibilities will include:
- Assisting the Senior Portfolio Manager in developing the portfolio strategy and overseeing the real estate portfolio.
- Assessing and reviewing the feasibility of capital management alternatives and strategic projects for the Portfolio assets.
- Overseeing and uplifting reporting and monitoring on portfolio performance, including valuations, capital calls, and distribution activities.
- Undertaking financial analysis in respect of proposed acquisitions, divestments, and asset management strategies.
- Evaluating opportunities for value creation within the direct real estate portfolio, including capital transactions, leasing deals, and development activities.
- Building and maintaining strong relationships with internal stakeholders and external investment managers, particularly those managing direct property assets.
- Supporting the preparation of investment and board papers and managing approval processes for portfolio transactions.
Requirements
To succeed in this role, you will have a strong background in real estate portfolio management and a minimum of 5 years' experience in portfolio/funds management, asset management, financial analysis, investment banking, or similar.
You will be able to evaluate direct property portfolios, including working with external investment managers, and possess strong financial modelling skills.
As well as:
- A good understanding of property valuations, capital transactions, and leasing structures.
- Exceptional analytical skills with strong financial modelling experience (Excel proficiency is essential).
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills to build relationships with senior management and external stakeholders.
- Ability to manage multiple priorities and adapt in a fast-paced environment.
- A sound understanding of finance theory and investment fundamentals.
