Electrical Apprenticeship Opportunity

AKD Softwoods is a leading forestry products company with a strong commitment to innovation and sustainability. We are seeking a motivated and driven individual to join our team as an Electrical Apprentice.

As an Electrical Apprentice, you will have the opportunity to gain hands-on experience in industrial electrical systems, working with cutting-edge equipment and technology. You will be trained by experienced tradespeople and will have the chance to work on a wide range of projects, from maintenance and installation to troubleshooting and repair.

Our apprenticeship program is designed to provide you with the skills and knowledge you need to succeed in the electrical trade. You will complete a nationally recognized qualification and will have the opportunity to work across multiple sites and locations.

As an AKD Softwoods apprentice, you will be part of a supportive and collaborative team environment. You will have access to ongoing training and development opportunities, and will be encouraged to take on new challenges and responsibilities.

Key responsibilities of the role include:

  • Installing, repairing, and maintaining electrical equipment and systems
  • Interpreting technical documents and specifications
  • Performing preventative maintenance and fault finding
  • Working with PLC logic programs and industrial control systems
  • Providing technical support and assistance to colleagues

We have a dedicated Training Manager to guide and support your overall training experience while undertaking your apprenticeship.

Throughout and post the completion of the program, there are opportunities for experience to be gained at our other sites/locations, with accommodation and travel support provided.

This is a full-time fixed-term position with a promising future. With a commitment of 3-4 years required to complete your trade, gain on the job training, and attend trade school, individuals must be highly motivated, flexible and keen to learn.
