As Learning Specialists, you will be highly skilled classroom practitioners who continue to spend the majority of their time in the classroom delivering high-quality teaching and learning. You will have a range of responsibilities related to your expertise, including teaching demonstration lessons, observing and providing feedback to other teachers, and facilitating school-based professional learning.
The role of the Learning Specialist is aimed at building excellence in teaching and learning within the Teaching Service. In recognition of the importance of exemplary practice, we are committed to supporting our teachers to reflect on their practice and facilitate school-based professional learning.

Our well-resourced specialist programs are exemplary in Media Arts, Performing Arts, Physical Education, and Personal and Social Capabilities Program. The school has a fully operational TV Studio, two computer labs, media arts space, performing arts rooms, and full-sized gymnasium. We regularly participate in interschool sport and achieve successful teams in many different sports.
Kilberry Valley Primary School is situated in Hampton Park and is categorised in the 'low to mid' range compared with other state schools in socio-economic terms. Key Responsibilities:
- Model exemplary teaching practice, including the teaching of literacy and numeracy skills across the curriculum.
- Implement school priorities and support teachers to evaluate the impact of learning and teaching programs on student learning growth.
- Monitor and assess student learning, and provide feedback to students and parents.
- Develop and maintain collaborative relationships with students, colleagues, parents, and the broader school community to support student learning, agency, wellbeing, and engagement.
- Facilitate school-based professional learning and support others to reflect on their practice.
