Job Summary

We are seeking an experienced Store Manager to lead our Fyshwick store. The successful candidate will be responsible for driving sales, improving customer experience, and managing store operations.

Key Responsibilities
  • Operational Execution: Ensure the store is executed to the highest standards, including customer service, merchandising, and operational procedures.
  • Customer Experience: Drive customer experience and sales goals by leading the team and implementing effective strategies.
  • Team Management: Recruit, train, and retain assistants, and identify internal staff talent for career development opportunities.
  • Store Standards: Manage store standards to ensure consistency with the TenTops brand.
  • Profitability: Drive overall profitability for the store by focusing on total store sales and expense control.
  • Cash Handling: Ensure the proper execution of all cash handling policies, including opening and closing procedures, daily paperwork, and bank deposits.
  • Compliance: Ensure compliance with Standard Operating Procedures (SOP) and company policies.
  • Employee Relations: Partner with the Operations Manager and Human Resources for employee coaching, performance documentation, and staff relations matters.
  • Rostering: Roster staff, including roster approval.
  • Payroll: Manage weekly, monthly, and annual payroll budgets to budget.
  • Store Environment: Ensure a clean and safe environment for staff and customers, including the sales floor, back room, manager's office, and bathrooms.
  • Register Functions: Authorize register functions, including post voids, returns, and discounts.
  • Merchandise Plans: Execute merchandise plans.
  • Data Integrity: Ensure the execution of company data integrity process and physical inventory management.
  • Receiving and Stocking: Oversee successful receiving and stocking procedures.
  • Store Issues: Partner with the Operations Manager on any store-related issues.
  • Customer Service: Ensure exceptional customer service is executed by all staff through training and role modeling ideal behaviors.
  • Staff Presentation: Ensure staff personal and uniform presentation is to a high standard.
  • Accountability: Hold all staff accountable for their job responsibilities.
  • Floor Sets: Manage floor sets and follow-up.
  • HR Policies: Comply with Human Resources policies and procedures.
  • Store Maintenance: Perform store maintenance, including taking out garbage, cleaning, and maintaining the stock room.
  • Safety: Maintain a strong culture of safety at all times, including the correct use of equipment.
Essential Job Functions
  • Computer and Printer: Frequently operate computer and printer.
  • Merchandise Handling: Frequently move merchandise weighing up to 10kg and up to a height of 1.5-3m.
  • Stock Trolleys and Pallet Jacks: Frequently use stock trolleys and pallet jacks for the moving of stock.
  • Ladders: Frequently ascend/descend ladders to retrieve and put away stock.
  • Physical Demands: Frequently position self to kneel, bend, and stoop, including in the stock room and on the sales floor.
  • Communication: Frequently communicate and exchange information with customers on the telephone and face-to-face in the store, as well as with staff.
  • Movement: Frequently move across the store directing staff to and from the back office and stock room retrieving and putting away merchandise.
  • Stationary Position: Must be able to remain in a stationary, upright position for 80% of the time.
Qualification and Work Skill Requirements
  • Experience: Minimum 3 years retail management experience preferred.
  • Communication Skills: Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Leadership Skills: Ability to multi-task, direct, and manage people.
  • Creative Thinking: Creative thinking.
  • Pressure Management: Ability to maintain composure under pressure.
  • Numeracy Skills: Solid numeracy skills.
