Job Overview

This is an exciting opportunity for a Staff Specialist in Anaesthesia to work at the John Hunter Hospital.

The successful applicant will have the chance to work in a diverse and dynamic environment, providing specialist perioperative and anaesthetic care to patients across various subspecialties including paediatrics.

You will have the opportunity to participate in regional and perioperative services, as well as our busy acute pain service with a strong emphasis on interventional pain modalities.

Newcastle is a beautiful city with beaches, inland waterways, coastal walks, and close proximity to the Hunter Valley and Port Stephens.

Your Responsibilities
  • Deliver high-quality perioperative and anaesthetic care, including on-call services
  • Supervise, train, and assess junior medical staff
  • Contribute to the leadership and organisation of perioperative services
What We're Looking For
  • A primary medical degree registered with AHPRA
  • Fellowship of the Australian and New Zealand College of Anaesthetists (ANZCA)
  • Recent and comprehensive experience in anaesthesia and perioperative medicine
