About the Role

Cumberland Council is seeking a highly motivated and customer-focused individual to join our Library Team as a Library Team Member. This is an exciting opportunity to work in a dynamic and diverse community, providing exceptional customer service and contributing to the delivery of programs and activities.

Key Responsibilities
  • Provide high-quality customer service to library customers, responding to queries and resolving issues in a professional and courteous manner.
  • Assist customers to access library resources, including books, e-books, and online databases.
  • Participate in the delivery of programs and activities, including children's story time, adult classes, and events.
  • Work collaboratively with the Library Team to achieve service delivery goals and objectives.
  • Develop and maintain knowledge of library services and resources, staying up-to-date with new technologies and trends.
Requirements
  • Experience in a customer-facing role, preferably in a library or similar environment.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work effectively with diverse groups.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team, with a strong focus on customer service.
  • Basic computer skills and experience with library software and systems.
  • Working With Children Check number (WWCC).
