Seasonal Laboratory Assistant - Barossa Valley

We are seeking a highly motivated and enthusiastic Seasonal Laboratory Assistant to join our team in the picturesque Barossa Valley. This is a fantastic opportunity for individuals with a science background or an interest in wine production to gain hands-on experience in a fast-paced winery environment.

This role will involve routine sampling and analysis of tanks, testing grape samples, and monitoring ferments for key parameters such as Baume, Temperature, YAN (Yeast Assimilable Nitrogen), pH, TA (Titratable Acidity), Alcohol, Glucose & Fructose (G+F), Malolactic fermentation (Malo).

No prior laboratory experience is necessary, as we value a great attitude, willingness to learn, and a strong work ethic. If you have worked in hospitality, farming, or other hands-on roles, that's a bonus

Key Responsibilities:

  • Routine sampling and analysis of tanks
  • Testing grape samples
  • Monitoring ferments for key parameters
  • Collaborating with the winemaking team to ensure high-quality wine production

Requirements:

  • Physically fit and able to work in a fast-paced environment
  • Able to work shifts and weekends
  • Your own reliable transportation
  • Available for the full vintage period (end of January to April)
  • At least 18 years old by 31 January
