We are seeking an experienced Railway Cost Analyst to join our team at Martinus Rail. This role involves managing project costs, ensuring financial integrity, and collaborating with cross-functional teams to achieve optimal project outcomes.

The successful candidate will be responsible for:

  • Developing and maintaining project budgets, tracking expenses, and identifying areas for cost savings.
  • Collaborating with project managers to evaluate change requests and update budgets accordingly.
  • Analysing project costs, including expenditures, budgets, and forecasts, to ensure alignment with project objectives and financial targets.
  • Preparing accurate and timely financial forecasts, highlighting potential risks and opportunities.
  • Reviewing contracts and agreements to ensure adherence to financial terms and conditions.
  • Developing risk mitigation strategies in collaboration with project teams.
  • Ensuring compliance with internal policies, procedures, and regulatory requirements related to project cost management.
  • Identifying opportunities to enhance cost control processes and tools.
  • Liaising with project stakeholders to provide regular updates on project financial performance and address any cost-related queries or concerns.
Qualifications
  • Bachelor's degree in finance, accounting, business administration, or a related field. An advanced degree or professional certification (e.g., CPA, CMA) is preferred.
  • Proven experience in cost control or financial management, preferably within the construction, engineering, or infrastructure sector.
  • Familiarity with project management principles and methodologies.
  • Proficiency in financial modeling, budgeting software, and enterprise resource planning (ERP) systems.
  • Strong computer skills, including proficiency in Microsoft Excel and other relevant financial software applications.
  • Strong understanding of financial principles, budgeting techniques, and cost management practices.
  • Ability to analyse complex financial data, identify trends, and draw meaningful insights to support decision-making.
  • Prior experience working on large-scale infrastructure projects is desirable.
