At Tabcorp, our Legal Team is at the forefront of shaping our industry's future. As a Commercial Lawyer, you'll navigate complex, emotionally driven environments, making decisions that drive business outcomes and customer satisfaction.

This role offers a unique opportunity to make a real impact by providing commercially viable advice that safeguards Tabcorp's interests. You'll work collaboratively with our Legal and Risk Office (LRO) colleagues to advise on a wide range of commercial, corporate, and regulatory matters.

Key responsibilities include:

  • Managing a range of issues, including drafting and negotiating agreements, advising on regulatory issues and licensing, consumer and general commercial law, stakeholder management, and marketing.
  • Partnering with the Sky Racing team to advise on Australian and international media matters, drafting and helping to negotiate media rights, content distribution, and pooling agreements.
  • Balancing commercial outcomes with practical legal considerations to ensure the provision of commercially viable advice that safeguards Tabcorp's interests.
  • Partnering with senior Tabcorp leaders to proactively identify legal risks and develop effective strategies and solutions.
  • Acting as a mentor and leader within the team, fostering collaboration and providing guidance to enhance the legal function's contribution to the broader business.

As a Commercial Lawyer, you'll bring a strong background in providing commercially focused legal advice within highly regulated organizations. You'll possess strong contract drafting skills, broad commercial experience, and the ability to provide clear, effective, legally sound, and commercially savvy advice.

Your experience advising across media-related issues will be beneficial, while your excellent stakeholder and communication skills will enable you to successfully engage, influence, and negotiate with a broad range of internal and external stakeholders.
