Job Description

The Australian Agricultural Company (AACo) is a leading cattle and beef producer in Australia. As the Senior Payroll Consultant, you will be responsible for processing payroll, ensuring compliance with legislation, and providing payroll insights to stakeholders.

About the Opportunity

This role handles complex payroll matters, serves as an escalation point, and maintains payroll policies and procedures. You will work closely with the Payroll Team Lead to manage end-to-end payroll processing, supervise and mentor junior staff, and ensure accurate recording of timesheets and employee benefits.

Key Responsibilities
  1. Manage monthly and fortnightly pay runs for 200 and 300 staff members respectively.
  2. Supervise and mentor the Payroll Consultant.
  3. Ensure accurate recording of timesheets, leave entitlements, and employee benefits across all locations.
  4. Process payroll taxes, benefits, and associated costs, ensuring timely payments.
  5. Prepare and reconcile payroll reports.

Requirements

To be successful in this role, you will need at least 5 years' experience in end-to-end payroll processing, including payroll tax. You must have strong relationship-building skills, excellent communication skills, and the ability to adapt to different audiences. A Bachelor's degree in accounting, finance, business administration, HR, or equivalent experience is also required. Proficiency in Microsoft Office, particularly Excel, is essential.
