Job Description

As a skilled Surgical Ward Registered Nurse or Midwife, you will be responsible for delivering high-quality patient care and contributing to the success of our healthcare team.

  • Assess individual patient needs and develop tailored care plans that meet their unique requirements.
  • Provide direct person-centred nursing/midwifery care and/or individual case management to patients/clients on a shift-by-shift basis with increasing autonomy over time.
  • Implement and coordinate a variety of nursing interventions to promote optimal patient outcomes.
  • Develop and deliver health education, counselling, and rehabilitation programs to support patient recovery and independence.
  • Mentor and support newer or less experienced staff, Enrolled Nurses, and student nurses to enhance their skills and knowledge.
Required Skills and Qualifications

To be successful in this role, you will need to possess:

  • A current registration as a Nurse or Nurse/Midwife by the Nursing and Midwifery Board of Australia.
  • Demonstrated competence in nursing practice in accordance with appropriate standards.
  • Effective communication skills, including problem-solving, conflict resolution, and negotiation skills.
