Job Description

As a Lead Engineer, you'll be responsible for developing, maintaining, and supporting innovative solutions that solve real-world challenges in the payments industry. You'll work closely with cross-functional teams to design and build scalable systems that meet the needs of millions of users.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Drive technical solution design, estimation, and delivery while ensuring alignment with domain architectural strategies
  • Perform code reviews to ensure that solutions meet quality standards and requirements
  • Contribute to and ensure adherence to governance, standards, and policies defined by the engineering practice
  • Work with the Domain Engineer Manager and other Lead Engineers to define Dev, Test, and Ops practices and controls and embed these within the team
  • Contribute to strategic technical roadmaps (0-2 years) in conjunction with the product and architecture team
  • Lead technical discussions and decisions that come out of backlog grooming, solution designing, and estimation sessions
  • Hire and onboard the right people for software engineering teams, including defining roles and responsibilities, attracting, interviewing, and selecting the best candidates
  • Build and maintain a cohesive team that works well together, fostering a culture of collaboration and communication, encouraging knowledge sharing, and providing opportunities for effective teamwork
Required Skills and Qualifications

To succeed in this role, you'll need:

  • 2 years' experience managing a team
  • Java or Typescript
  • PL/SQL (SQL Server or Oracle)
  • Webservices (REST & SOAP)
  • Maven
  • Reporting services (MS SSIS, SAP Business Objects etc.)
  • Automated Unit & Integration Testing Frameworks
  • Micro-services implemented using Spring Boot
  • CI/CD Tooling
  • Design Patterns
