YOUR ROLE

As a vital member of the esteemed PATENTS division at this highly regarded and rapidly expanding IP firm, you will take on the responsibility, engagement, and challenges of providing expert advice to both local and international clients on a wide array of technical and commercial matters related to patents, particularly in the ICT, electronics, software, and mechanical engineering sectors.

Key responsibilities include: drafting, prosecuting, and filing patents in Australia and internationally, as well as advising on enforcement and validity matters.

WHO WE SEEK

We welcome applications from individuals who:

  • Are a fully qualified Australian/NZ patent attorney with at least 6 months of post-qualification experience [or more, up to senior associate level] OR a trainee patent attorney currently pursuing a Masters in IP;
  • Hold a degree or higher qualification in ENGINEERING [including electrical, computer engineering, mechanical, mechatronics, automotive] and/or IT/COMPUTER SCIENCE or a related field;
  • Have practical experience in drafting and prosecuting patents, with some opposition experience preferred;
  • Possess strong technical, analytical, and communication skills, along with solid commercial insight;
