In this pivotal role, you will oversee the smooth and efficient operation of our paper manufacturing processes, ensuring budget targets are met, quality standards are maintained, and safety and environmental compliance are upheld. Reporting to the Production Foreman, you will lead a team of machine operators and provide technical support and troubleshooting expertise to drive efficiency and excellence in every aspect of paper production.

Responsibilities:

  • Drive daily production targets, providing technical support and troubleshooting complex production problems, and overseeing machinery set-ups to optimise efficiency.
  • Maintain quality standards by regularly checking process conditions against check sheets, monitoring final product parameters, and taking corrective action as needed to ensure adherence to customer specifications.
  • Uphold safety protocols and procedures, ensuring that personnel adhere to PPE requirements, conducting regular safety inspections, and participating in incident investigations to maintain a safe working environment.
  • Lead, motivate, and develop the production team, assessing competency, delegating responsibilities, and providing ongoing training and support to ensure that employees perform to the required standard.
  • Adhere to environmental procedures and policies, implement actions to minimise environmental impact, and actively participate in discussions and initiatives aimed at promoting environmental stewardship within the organisation.

About You:

  • Qualification in Production Management, or equivalent.
  • Minimum of 5 years relevant working experience within a paper manufacturing environment.
  • A proven track record of inspiring and guiding teams towards surpassing targets.
  • Deep expertise in paper manufacturing, streamlining processes and optimising machinery for efficiency.
  • Meticulous attention to detail, ensuring products consistently meet and exceed customer expectations.
  • A commitment to safety, fostering a secure work environment that safeguards the team.
  • A dedication to sustainability, minimising environmental impact and promoting environmental consciousness.
  • Strong communication skills, promoting effective teamwork and innovation across departments.
