Job Summary
We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Medical Education Director to lead the development of our medical education program.
Key Responsibilities
- Collaborate with the Mater Medical Education team to design, enhance, and maintain high-quality medical education programs.
- Ensure ongoing compliance with accreditation standards for prevocational doctors and staff training, working closely with relevant Hospital & Health Services.
- Provide expert advice on medical education strategy to senior leadership, including the Director of Medical Education & Workforce, Directors of Clinical Training, and other executive officers.
- Lead accreditation processes in partnership with local healthcare facilities and broader networks.
- Manage key relationships with stakeholders, including Queensland Health (QHealth) hospitals and medical education units.
- Co-ordinate and plan teaching content according to accreditation and facility requirements.
- Support and provide advocacy for the prevocational doctors within the program.
- Co-ordinate the prevocational doctor orientation program.
Requirements
- A bachelor's degree in Adult Education, Health, or a related discipline (a clinical background is desirable but not essential).
- High-level communication, critical thinking, and problem-solving skills.
- Expertise in accreditation standards and policies affecting medical education.
- A solid understanding of adult learning theories and practices, including e-learning and interprofessional education.
- Proficiency in using data to drive program improvements and evaluate outcomes.
