About the Role

We are seeking a skilled Diesel Mechanic to join our team at BDS Mechanical Repairs in Chinchilla. As a Diesel Mechanic, you will be responsible for diagnosing and repairing diesel engines, as well as performing general repairs and maintenance on trucks and trailers.

Key Responsibilities
  • Diagnose and repair diesel engines, including major and minor rebuilds
  • Perform general repairs and maintenance on trucks and trailers, including replacing engines, steering mechanisms, transmissions, and braking systems
  • Check vehicle lighting systems and test drive vehicles to gauge performance
  • Maintain detailed records of serviced vehicles and adhere to an inspection procedure checklist
Requirements
  • Relevant trade qualification and diagnostic experience
  • Good communication skills and ability to work as part of a team
  • Highway truck, truck mounted EWP, truck mounted cranes, field servicing, or heavy earthmoving experience a bonus
  • Heavy rigid license and strong fault finding skills
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and meet deadlines
