Are you a seasoned professional seeking a challenging role in risk management?

We are currently looking for a Senior Manager Risk and Control to join our organization in Western Australia.

This position will be responsible for strengthening the culture of financial crime compliance, actively managing and reducing financial crime risks, and ensuring regulatory and community expectations are met.

This includes driving effective implementation of AML/CTF, Sanctions and ABC policies, while continually strengthening the Financial Crime risk management framework, procedures, and controls.

As a member of the leadership team, you will lead teams responsible for establishing and actioning business unit level controls that help manage financial crime risk.

You will design and implement controls to enable better risk and compliance outcomes, overseeing the effective design and execution of controls owned by the Line 1 Financial Crime team.

Your key responsibilities include:

  • Developing and championing a Continuous Improvement culture within the team, consistently looking for new opportunities to further optimize and streamline existing processes.
  • Leading projects impacting the operational environment (internal and external) and ensuring adequate training is in place to support the team.
  • Complying with Service Level Agreement standards for delivery and adhering to all policy and procedures.
  • Applying sound risk management practices by pro-actively identifying and responding to risks and reporting them as necessary.
  • Developing a high performing team through coaching and mentoring.

We're interested in hearing from people who have:

  • Experience in operational risk management and compliance ideally within banking, financial services or law enforcement.
  • Strong technical knowledge and experience in the application of financial crime risk management frameworks and expertise in AML/CTF, Sanctions and ABC.
  • Exceptional communication and stakeholder management skills and ability to negotiate and influence at all levels.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication including writing of committee papers and facilitation of working groups with multiple stakeholders.
