Mental Health Worker Position

Albury Wodonga Aboriginal Health Service (AWAHS) is an Aboriginal Community Controlled Health Organisation that provides comprehensive primary health care services to the Aboriginal community.

About the Role

As a Mental Health Worker, you will assess mental health wellness needs and promote acceptance of people with mental health issues in the community.

  • Engage with families, carers, and clients using a client-focused approach.
  • Provide case management to support clients effectively.
  • Deliver culturally sensitive and holistic programs to promote social and emotional wellbeing.
Your Skills and Experience

We are looking for someone with:

  • Experience working in mental health or relevant formal qualifications.
  • Demonstrated understanding of Aboriginal cultures and local connections.
  • Experience in goal setting and connecting individuals with support services.
  • Ability to cultivate effective relationships with peers and clients.
