About Us

Alma Nove, a leading fine dining establishment on Manly beach, is seeking an experienced Sommelier to join its launch team.

Salary and Benefits

We offer a competitive salary, estimated at around $70,000 per annum, based on industry standards and location. Additionally, you will enjoy access to meals on shift, discounts on merchandise, food, and beverage items, as well as training and orientation programs.

Job Description

The successful candidate will be responsible for delivering exceptional wine service to our discerning clientele. This includes managing wine lists, making recommendations, and ensuring seamless execution of wine pairings.

Key Responsibilities
  • Manage wine inventory, ordering, and storage;
  • Maintain accurate records of wine sales, stock levels, and customer preferences;
  • Develop and implement wine promotions, events, and themed menus;
  • Collaborate with chefs, servers, and other staff to ensure cohesive service delivery;
  • Foster relationships with wine suppliers, distributors, and importers.
Requirements
  • Previous experience as a Sommelier in a fine dining/wine venue;
  • Accredited education program, such as the Wine & Spirit Education Trust (WSET) or the Court of Master Sommeliers education program;
  • Strong knowledge of wine, including varieties, regions, and pairing principles;
  • Excellent communication, interpersonal, and problem-solving skills;
  • Able to work independently and as part of a high-energy team.
