About Our Program

This position is situated within local communities in the Pakenham areas covering the Cardinia Local Government Area, within South Metro.

The role is based at a regional office with the expectation that practitioners are on-site daily.

Key Responsibilities
  • Deliver proactive support to families and children accessing universal services such as schools and early learning centers.
  • Establish relationships, facilitate opportunities, and deliver services to support families and children across various partner sites.
  • Collaborate with local stakeholders, promoting communication between partners, community service providers, and families.

Service delivery includes brief intervention work with families, group work, secondary consultation with stakeholders, and capacity building within the community.

This includes psychoeducation, referrals and access to universal or specialist services, assessment, parenting groups, training, individual support and brokerage expenditure.

The practitioners will be front-line for delivering the Early Help Framework model.

Working collaboratively as part of the team on site and with local stakeholders, promoting collaboration and shared practice, to ensure a seamless experience for families and children.

Selection Criteria
  • Significant work experience in a relevant field supporting an understanding of key child development issues relating to parents and their families.
  • Demonstrated experience and understanding of trauma, attachment, and developmental stages.
  • Professional case management skills.
  • Capacity to develop collaborative relationships across professional boundaries.

The role requires the incumbent to hold a relevant tertiary qualification, which may include a Bachelor's degree in Social Work, Child Development, Psychology or a related subject area.
