Early Childhood Psychologist Opportunity

Melbourne City Mission is a leader and innovator in the provision of early childhood intervention services, established in 1854. Our non-denominational organisation supports thousands of Victorian people and communities to overcome barriers and disrupt disadvantage.

The Early Childhood Intervention Program serves as a specialized service dedicated to aiding families with children (0-9 years old) who require support for developmental delays or disabilities. Central to our approach is the recognition of the critical role of early interventions in fostering optimal long-term development.

To ensure the best possible outcomes for these children and their families, we are seeking an experienced Psychologist to join our therapy team.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Work collaboratively with educators, allied health workers, and youth workers to deliver mental health support to students.
  • Assess student needs and formulate relevant treatment plans.
  • Provide play-based therapeutic services focused on child and family goals.
  • Utilize skills and knowledge to provide goal-driven family-centred programs to support families through a key worker model of practice and parent coaching.

As a member of our therapy team, you will have the opportunity to develop specialist areas of interest and work collaboratively with other disciplines and stakeholders within the team to deliver high-quality integrated therapy supports.
