About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled and dedicated Family Law Solicitor to join our team as a 12-month maternity leave cover. As a key member of our Family Law Program, you will provide legal advice and casework to migrant and refugee women experiencing family violence.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Conduct legal casework in family law and family violence law, including legal advice, litigation, and liaison with case managers.
  • Ensure that legal services operate within the Women's Legal Centre's guidelines and integrated practice.
  • Provide high-quality legal advice and casework at inTouch head office and outposts.
  • Communicate regularly with the Case Management Team to ensure successful implementation of the Women's Legal Centre's operational model.
  • Maintain accurate records in the Actionsteps management system.

Requirements

To be successful in this role, you will need:

  • A current Australian Practising Certificate.
  • Demonstrated capacity to work as an advocate and case worker in family law and family violence law.
  • Knowledge or practical experience in family law and family violence law.
  • Excellent interpersonal skills and experience working with clients from diverse backgrounds.
  • Ability to work collaboratively with others and foster a cooperative and supportive team environment.
