The role of a Kitchen Attendant is a vital position within our kitchen team, responsible for maintaining cleanliness and order in the kitchen, as well as assisting with food preparation and service. Key aspects of the job include:
- Maintaining clean and organized kitchen areas
- Properly disposing of waste and managing used linen
- Replenishing supplies in storage areas
- Receiving and rotating stock
- Sifting through used equipment and leftover food from events
- Supporting chefs with food preparation and pack-down procedures
- Identifying opportunities to reduce wastage during ordering, storage, and processing of food
- Previous experience in a kitchen environment
- Attention to detail and organizational skills
- Able to work under pressure while maintaining a positive attitude and professional demeanor
- Flexible approach and attitude
- Food hygiene training and accreditation
- Excellent communication, interpersonal, and teamwork skills
- Hardworking, physically fit, and reliable
- Training in correct lifting techniques
- Prior OH&S training and/or accreditation
- A motivated team player comfortable taking on delegated responsibility
- Great personal presentation
