Senior Logistics and Materials Handling Specialist

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Senior Logistics and Materials Handling Technician to join our team at Yara. The successful candidate will be responsible for overseeing the materials handling and logistics operations of Ammonium Nitrate and Ammonium Nitrate Solution at our facility.
Key Responsibilities- Materials Handling and Logistics Operations: Supervise and support the materials handling and logistics operations of Ammonium Nitrate, bagging, bulk, containerized, and ANSol consignments.
- Incident Response: Proactively respond to incidents and re-establish production in a safe and timely manner.
- Equipment Operation: Operate Integrated Tool Carriers, Forklifts, Conveyors, and other bulk handling equipment.
- Policies and Procedures: Assist the Logistics and Materials Handling Coordinator in the development, review, and implementation of area-specific policies and procedures.
- Issue Rectification: Rectify and communicate plant, process, and equipment issues to the Logistics Coordinator.
- Meetings and Reporting: Conduct daily and weekly prestart and Tactical Implementation Plan meetings, and assist in writing and maintaining Standard Operating Procedures.
- Performance Monitoring: Monthly follow up of Production department's lead Key Performance Indicators.
- Productivity System: Actively participate and drive the Yara Productivity System (YPS) in the Ammonium Nitrate Bulk, Container, Bagging, and ANSol loading Areas.
- Administrative Tasks: Perform administrative tasks, including purchasing, SAP activities, site access requests, Material Movement Permits, and consignment documentation.
- Investigation and Corrective Action: Assist in the investigation and take corrective actions to address production losses, trips, and incidents.
- Training and Development: Provide training to the Logistics and Materials Handling Technicians and Bagging Operators.
- Operational Readiness: Ensure operational readiness of Plant and Equipment.
- Logistics Area Operations: Conduct Logistic area plant start-ups and shutdown.
- Quality Control: Report product quality issues to the Logistics and Materials Handling Coordinator, Production Coordinator, and Shift Superintendents.
- Problem-Solving: Cooperate and work with Engineers to resolve complex problems.
- Cost-Saving Strategies: Drive and implement cost-saving strategies across the department.
- Operational Continuity: Conduct any other duties required to maintain Operational Continuity and assist in (but not limited to) turnaround activities.
- Certifications: Certificates in Logistics, Business, and/or Process Plant / ESI / RII are highly desirable.
- Language Skills: Fluent English (verbal and written) is essential.
- Experience: Minimum two years' experience in a Similar role or Operations role within the Mining, Oil & Gas, or Petrochemical industry.
- Major Hazard Facility and Dangerous Goods Experience: Highly desirable.
- Technical Skills: High proficiency in Microsoft Suite and SAP.
- Citizenship or Residency: Australian/New Zealand citizenship or permanent residency. Temporary work visa holders are not eligible for this role.
