Role Overview

The corporate tax advisory team is dedicated to providing in-depth guidance on major transactions, ensuring tax-efficient strategies while addressing potential complexities. By utilizing our extensive knowledge of transaction dynamics, commercial perspectives, and tax ramifications, we consistently achieve favorable outcomes that align with client objectives.

In this role, you will have the chance to:

  • Provide insights on tax implications during group acquisitions or when entities exit a Consolidated Group.
  • Support initial public offerings and execute comprehensive due diligence processes.
  • Design intricate merger structures, encompassing both domestic and international operations.
  • Guarantee the ongoing availability of tax losses within the group and adjust the tax basis of underlying assets.
  • Assist in formulating advice and calculations pertaining to international tax matters.
  • Conduct thorough research and analysis of complex tax issues, producing detailed tax reports.
  • Prepare tax returns for companies and trusts, including consolidated tax returns, for a diverse portfolio of large corporate clients.
  • Engage in Country by Country Reporting initiatives.
  • Participate in Thin Capitalization measures.

Candidate Profile

  • Experience: 2.5-5 years of relevant Australian tax experience within Big 4 or mid-tier accounting firms, law firms, or pertinent corporate settings.
  • Education: A tertiary qualification in Commerce, Accounting, or Law with a specialization in Taxation.
  • Skills: Excellent research, writing, and analytical skills, coupled with a strong desire for continuous professional development.
  • Working Style: A collaborative, innovative, and inclusive approach to work.
  • Adaptability: A willingness to embrace new ideas, challenge the status quo, and adopt innovative practices.
  • Communication: Outstanding interpersonal and communication abilities.
