Job Role Overview

The role of a Senior Lecturer in Early Childhood Education is to play a key leadership part in delivering and continuously improving the Graduate Diploma of Early Childhood Education at university level.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Design, deliver and maintain engaging course materials and assessments aligned with learning outcomes and academic standards.
  • Provide high-quality teaching, timely feedback and ongoing academic support to students across various delivery modes.
  • Monitor student progress, identify at-risk students and implement appropriate support and interventions.
  • Ensure accurate and timely submission of results and maintain compliance with institutional and regulatory requirements.
  • Contribute to course quality through moderation, assessment reviews and continuous improvement initiatives.
  • Support broader academic functions including RPL applications, student interviews and orientation activities.
  • Participate actively in professional development, teaching evaluations and collaborative academic meetings.

Required Qualifications:

  • A postgraduate qualification in Early Childhood Education.
  • At least two (2) FTE years of relevant industry experience post-qualification, specifically related to Early Childhood Education.
  • Willingness to undertake at least 20 hours of continued professional development annually.

Desirable Qualifications:

  • Completion of or enrollment in a PhD program.
  • Relevant tertiary teaching experience with demonstrated achievements and results.
