About the Role

The purpose of this rewarding role is to provide professional counselling, support, and specialist group programs to individuals, couples, children, and families through collaborative practices that are trauma-informed, evidence-based, and psycho-educational.

As a Counsellor with BaptistCare NSW & ACT, you will work with clients from diverse backgrounds to help them overcome difficulties, build resilience, and enhance their quality of life and relationships.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Provide individual and group counselling sessions to clients with diverse needs and backgrounds
  • Develop and implement trauma-informed and evidence-based programs to support clients
  • Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams to provide comprehensive support services
  • Work with clients who have experienced domestic violence and those who use violence
  • Develop and maintain relationships with community partners and stakeholders

Requirements:

  • Tertiary qualifications in a relevant human services field (e.g. Psychology, Counselling)
  • Clinical membership of a relevant professional body (e.g. PACFA)
  • Demonstrated experience in counselling and group work, including child-focused counselling and play therapy
  • Experience in providing counselling in an agency setting
  • Demonstrated experience in working with diverse groups, including Government departments and other agencies
  • Ability to work in a trauma-informed and culturally sensitive manner
  • Excellent written and oral communication skills
  • Working with Children Check and Police Check
  • Current Driver's License
