About Our Client

Bayside Group is a leading multidisciplinary design consultant with a strong presence in Melbourne. Our client is seeking an experienced licensed land surveyor to join their team, which is responsible for major civil infrastructure, heavy industrial, water, and built environments projects.

Job Summary

We are looking for a skilled surveyor to provide subject matter expertise and leadership in meeting the cadastral surveying requirements on major rail and road projects. The successful candidate will be responsible for coordinating and creating plans to be lodged with the Surveyor General Victoria and Land Use Victoria, and providing survey advice to both the infrastructure and property teams, as well as various other stakeholders.

Key Responsibilities
  • Support the development of the Survey team by contributing to documentation and processes, and providing mentoring.
  • Provide specialist technical advice on the survey program and management of potential risks related to survey.
  • Provide technical support to the Engineering and Program Services team in planning and developing changes required to survey processes to stay current with State and stakeholder requirements.
  • In consultation and collaboration with internal stakeholders, provide authoritative advice to Project Delivery Partners (Alliances) and external government agencies on land surveying matters of varying complexity.
  • Review of Project Delivery Partner (Alliance) deliverables to ensure they meet authority requirements.
  • Assist the Land and Property team in identifying project survey needs and in obtaining cadastral surveys/survey plans.
  • Contribute toward an inclusive culture through collaboration with peers across the broader Environmental Approvals team.
Requirements
  • Registration as a practicing licensed surveyor in Victoria is required. Highly desirable for 8+ years.
  • Knowledge of Land Registry and Surveyor General Victoria processes and requirements relating to land plan production and registration.
  • Knowledge of current regulatory and legislative surveying requirements of major infrastructure projects.
  • Knowledge of geospatial data capture, manipulation, and presentation, including in 3D.
  • Demonstrated skills in Computer-Aided Drafting (CAD) applications. MicroStation experience is desirable.
  • Effective verbal and written communication skills.
  • Excellent communicator capable of quickly developing positive and robust relationships with stakeholders.
  • Strong problem-solving skills with the ability to think on your feet and make quick, rational decisions.
  • Demonstrated experience in land surveying (particularly cadastral) is required.
  • Experience on major infrastructure projects would be highly desirable.
