Job Description

As a Trauma Informed Education Consultant, you will lead the delivery of trauma informed education and support to teachers, parents, and caregivers working within schools and classrooms. Your primary objective is to provide formal professional development training and coaching engagements to enhance the social emotional competencies of students and staff.

Responsibilities include:

  • Delivering workshops and in-house presentations on trauma-informed practices
  • Coaching and supporting key stakeholders in their learning and application of trauma-informed principles
  • Participating in school leadership meetings to promote a safe and supportive environment
  • Providing consultation to school staff and caregivers to address the social emotional needs of students
Required Skills and Qualifications

To be successful in this role, you must possess:

  • Graduate or postgraduate qualifications in social work, psychology, education, or a creative arts therapy
  • Minimum 8 years' experience working in social work, psychology, education, or allied health services
  • Advanced knowledge of trauma-informed principles and practices for supporting children, families, and communities
  • Prior experience working with children living with and impacted by trauma, as well as prior experience delivering workshops and in-house presentations
