Job Summary:
The City of Rockingham is seeking a skilled and enthusiastic Assistant Cook to join our team at the Autumn Centre. As an Assistant Cook, you will play a vital role in preparing delicious and nutritious meals for our members, ensuring that dietary requirements are catered for.
Key Responsibilities:
- Assist in preparing confectionery, savouries, sandwiches, and pastries for the kiosk/café
- Organize and manage kitchen inventory, including stock control and ordering supplies
- Ensure all hygiene and legislative requirements are met, maintaining a clean and safe kitchen environment
- Work collaboratively with the team to provide excellent customer service and a positive dining experience for members
- Develop and implement menus that cater to diverse dietary needs and preferences
- Previous experience in a large catering situation is highly desirable
Requirements:
- Sound knowledge of food preparation, presentation, and safety
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team
- Flexibility to work varying shifts, including weekends and public holidays
What We Offer:
- A competitive gross salary of $60,256 per annum (pro rata)
- 11.5% superannuation with the opportunity to co-contribute up to 5%
