Job Summary:


Maxxia Pty Ltd is seeking a highly skilled Senior Financial Accountant to join our team in a corporate finance leadership role. The successful candidate will be responsible for supporting financial reporting, ensuring compliance with regulatory requirements, and providing technical accounting advice to business unit management.



About the Role

  • Lead month-end close accounting procedures, including journal processing and balance sheet reconciliations;
  • Ensure MMS meets all its financial regulatory compliance requirements on a timely basis;
  • Provide technical accounting advice to business unit management and senior leaders to ensure impacts of business transactions are clear and properly processed;
  • Review analysis and interpretation of statistical and accounting information;
  • Assist with ad-hoc finance or business projects as required;
  • Be a key contact for external and internal audit processes.


Key Responsibilities

The Senior Financial Accountant will have the following key responsibilities:



  2. Support the preparation of financial statements for the MMS Group and its subsidiaries;
  3. Contribute to technical accounting advice and ensure correct financial processing that supports day-to-day financial management;
  4. Manage intercompany transaction and contribute to capital management and treasury operations;
  5. Recommend improvements to financial control and reporting frameworks and processes;
  6. Develop and enhance reporting systems and processes for an efficient financial control and governance process;
  7. Actively mentor/coach, train and develop team members.


About You

To be successful in this role, you will need:



  • A commitment to providing high-level customer service;
  • Excellent communication skills and the ability to interact with business managers and other senior leaders;
  • Strong attention to detail, reviewing work to ensure completeness and accuracy of analysis, outputs and information provided to stakeholders;
  • Strong analytical and reporting skills, proficient in Excel, and Word;
  • Leadership and coaching/mentoring of financial accounting team members;
  • At least 3-5 years of financial reporting and accounting experience post CA/CPA qualification in a corporate or professional services environment;
  • Strong technical accounting knowledge including the application of IFRS and relevant legislation as relevant to MMS businesses;
  • Knowledge of financial reporting and operational processes and accounting systems/applications;
  • Experience with general ledger applications including JD Edwards (desired).

Salary: $120,000 - $150,000 per annum
