Netball Coach Position

The Netball Program Coach is a pivotal role that requires exceptional coaching and leadership skills to deliver a quality training program for identified athletes across the Gippsland region.

About This Opportunity

This position involves working closely with athletes, assistant coaches, and support staff to ensure athletes receive comprehensive technical, tactical, physical, and personal development.

Key Responsibilities
  • Program Development: Design and implement a structured training and development program aligned with Netball Victoria and GSA guidelines.
  • Assistant Coach Support: Provide coaching opportunities to assistant coaches, focusing on their growth and development, and lead by example.
  • Athlete Coaching: Deliver expert coaching and mentoring to athletes aged 12–15 years, emphasizing technical and tactical skills.
  • Support Services: Offer support in areas of fitness, wellbeing, and leadership, promoting holistic growth and development.
  • Collaboration: Collaborate effectively with assistant coaches, performance staff, and the GSA team to ensure a unified approach and achieve shared goals.
  • Event Participation: Attend key events such as Trials, Training sessions, Inter-Academy Challenge, and Awards evening, showcasing expertise and commitment.
  • Coaching Accreditation: Hold Intermediate Netball Coaching Accreditation or higher, demonstrating dedication to coaching excellence.
  • Experience and Expertise: Possess extensive experience in representative, state, or academy-level coaching, coupled with a deep understanding of the Netball Victoria player pathway and High-Performance environment.
  • Leadership and Communication: Demonstrate exceptional communication and leadership skills, inspiring and motivating young athletes to reach their full potential.
  • Teamwork: Foster strong relationships with the Talent Academy coaching team, promoting a culture of collaboration and shared success.
  • Safety and Compliance: Hold a current Working with Children Check, ensuring a safe and supportive environment for athletes.
  • Ongoing Development: Pursue ongoing coaching development through advanced accreditation or continued education, staying at the forefront of coaching best practices.
Requirements

To be successful in this role, you will need:

  • Intermediate Netball Coaching Accreditation
  • Extensive experience in representative, state, or academy-level coaching
  • Deep understanding of the Netball Victoria player pathway and High-Performance environment
  • Exceptional communication and leadership skills
  • Ability to work collaboratively with the coaching team
  • Current Working with Children Check
