Job Title: Policy Analyst

About the Role

This is a key position within the Department of Education, where you will be working closely with senior officers to provide research and data analysis. The ideal candidate will have strong analytical skills and the ability to communicate effectively.

Key Responsibilities
  • Assist in undertaking research and data analysis to communicate contemporary developments in early childhood, schools and education to senior officers
  • Prepare briefings, correspondence, speeches and other papers using word processing, spreadsheets, PowerPoint and other software for senior officers, the Secretary and the Ministers
  • Use technology to analyse data from multiple sources and prepare clear and concise reports on the interpretation of the data
  • Build excellent relationships and work collaboratively with staff across the Directorate and in other parts of the Department to ensure projects are developed effectively and on time
Required Skills and Qualifications
  • A collaborative working approach
  • Ability to make decisions and take initiative
  • Outstanding written and verbal communication skills
  • Strong skills with Microsoft Office, Teams and TRIM
  • Experience in a policy or research environment
  • Previous Government experience is highly beneficial
