Job Summary:

  • We are seeking a highly skilled Senior Building Estimator to join our team in Mackay.

About the Role:

  • The successful candidate will be responsible for estimating and supervising building re-instatement works, ensuring all work conforms to legislative and contractual OH&S requirements.
  • You will interpret scope of works provided by consultants, write scope of works documents when required, and work in conjunction with supervisors to achieve set budgets.
  • This is an excellent opportunity to leverage existing relationships with key personnel in the insurance industry and build new ones.
  • You will liaise with clients and insurers, coordinate access to properties with insured parties, and ensure all inspections, certificates, and relevant documentation is signed off.

What We're Looking For:

  • Carpentry / Building Trade or Construction Qualification
  • Estimating or Insurance building background required
  • Excellent organisational and time management skills
  • Computer literacy – Microsoft Excel, Project & Word
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
  • Ability to build effective relationships and be empathetic to the needs of the client
  • Dispute resolution skills
  • Positive attitude and sound work ethic
  • Ability to manage multiple and competing priorities
  • Familiarity with OHS practices, legislations, and regulations
  • Familiarity with current market rates and trades
  • Current and valid motor vehicle licence

Salary and Benefits:

  • The annual salary for this position is between $80,000 to $110,000 AUD, depending on experience.
